Data Storage and Security
Local Storage
- All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API
- Data is stored in two locations:
- Chrome Sync Storage: Settings, blocked websites, time limits, and preferences (synced across your devices)
- Chrome Local Storage: Time tracking data and statistics (stored only on your device)
Data Security
- No data is transmitted to external servers
- No data is sold or shared with third parties
- No data leaves your browser except through Chrome's own sync functionality (if you have Chrome Sync enabled)
- All processing happens locally on your device
Data Sharing and Third Parties
MindLock does NOT:

Chrome Sync
If you have Chrome Sync enabled in your browser:
- Your blocked websites, time limits, and settings will sync across your devices
- Time tracking data remains local and does not sync
- You can disable Chrome Sync at any time in Chrome settings
Data Retention
- Browsing statistics: Daily statistics are saved as "Yesterday" if exactly 1 day has passed, then reset
- Weekly statistics: Reset every Sunday at midnight
- Blocked websites and settings: Retained until you manually remove them or uninstall the extension
- All data is deleted when you uninstall MindLock
